Leonardo Gammar joined Pirate Capital LLC as a Blockchain & Crypto Strategic Advisor in 2020. Leonardo is a financial engineer, programmer, and innovator. He patented his first invention at the age of 20, a CO2 emissions reducer for cars that is now widely used across West Africa. Afterward, Leonardo built and sold two profitable trading algorithms to one of the world’s top 15 largest hedge funds. From there, he began investing in academic research on new types of blockchain consensus models and developing mission-driven projects, which led to the birth of Agora, a voting technology company based in Lausanne, Switzerland. Leonardo is passionate about creating secure and transparent elections around the world. He graduated the « École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne ‐ EPFL » bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, and a master’s in financial engineering.
